About Me

Hello! My name is Elena and I write children's books. I grew up in Buckinghamshire before moving to London for my studies and work. I now live and work in Cyprus with my family. 

 

I am passionate about encouraging children to engage with the outside world, use their imagination and learn something new through beautifully illustrated adventures. I also hope to give children (and their parents!) a chuckle along the way.

 

I have written the Meli & Mac series of picture books.  The first book in the series, Meli & Mac: Rendez-Vous with a Flamingo, was first published in Cyprus (December 2022) and then in the UK (November 2023). I have very fond memories of many escapades in the countryside with my brothers as a child which no doubt formed part of my inspiration behind the Meli & Mac series. We didn’t have any magic bags or gadgets but we did have vivid imaginations!

I was fascinated by Greek mythology as a child and have been writing stories from as far back as I can remember.  I grew up bilingual and have always had a real love of languages as well as travel. I strongly believe that cultural differences, through stories, music, food and customs should be shared and celebrated.

When I am not daydreaming about new expeditions, I love going for hikes, cooking (it's the Greek in me!), travelling and restoring furniture!
